Start with the next lesson on your calendar
If you are moving condo in Singapore, tell your swim school which lesson is the last one you expect to attend at the old pool. Ask what needs to be confirmed before lessons can begin at the new address. A change of home can affect the pool, the coach’s route and your available time.
Keep the existing booking clear while those questions are being settled. Sending a new address is a request to change the arrangement; ask the school to confirm what has actually changed. This helps avoid a coach travelling to the old pool or a family arriving for a lesson that has not been agreed.
Check the new estate’s coaching arrangements
Contact the new condominium’s management office or use its resident portal. Ask whether outside swimming coaches may teach there, which pool they may use and how to register a coach. Check the permitted lesson times and any booking or visitor procedure that applies to your proposed session.
Use the new estate’s answer even if your coach was already registered at the old condo. For example, Evergreen Park’s published registration form calls for a teaching schedule and management approval. La Fiesta’s published form also sets out coach registration and resident-only lesson conditions. These illustrate estate-specific arrangements; ask management for the current version rather than copying another condo’s rules.
If a sibling or friend is in the existing lesson, check their eligibility separately. Being able to invite someone to visit does not establish whether they may join coaching at that pool. Share any restriction with the school before asking it to keep the group together.
Ask whether the same coach and time can continue
Give the school the new condo name or area, your expected move date and the days you can attend. Ask whether your current coach can cover the new location at the usual time. If that is uncertain, offer another time you could manage so the school has something concrete to check.
Your original weekly slot may fit the coach’s route around the old address. Ask for confirmation of the coach and time at the new pool before relying on that slot. If a different coach is proposed, discuss the learner’s current focus and what would help the first lesson go well.
Penguin considers condo lessons according to pool access, estate rules, learner needs, timing and coach availability. A listing in the condo directory is a starting point for an enquiry. It does not reserve a coach or confirm permission for your session.
Settle remaining lessons with the school
Ask the school to confirm how many lessons remain and the package expiry. Then ask what the proposed location change means for those lessons. Check any revised price or arrangement in writing before accepting it.
If your move creates a gap, ask how to handle the already booked dates. Do not assume a moving week automatically pauses the package or extends its expiry. Use the terms that apply to your booking and the school’s written response.
Keep three dates distinct: your move date, the last confirmed lesson at the old pool and the first confirmed lesson at the new pool. They may fall in different weeks. If you are also changing providers, discuss each provider’s package separately; a progress record does not establish a transfer of lesson credit.
Use a short change-of-location note
Copy the prompts below into your message to the school. Leave an unanswered field marked as pending so everyone can see what still needs a decision.
Move and pool: New condo name or area, expected move date and the pool you hope to use.
Current booking: Usual coach and time, plus the last lesson confirmed at the old pool.
New arrangement requested: Preferred first date and time, with an alternative if possible.
Access status: Management’s response, coach-registration steps and any rule affecting the learners in your group.
Package question: Remaining lessons and expiry to be confirmed by the school, plus any booked dates affected by the move.
Learning focus: What the learner is practising now and anything the coach should know about settling into the new pool.
Send personal booking details directly to the school through its official contact channel. Arrange any documents needed by management through the appropriate private process.
Confirm the first session at the new pool
Before that session, check you have the agreed date, time and coach, along with the correct pool and arrival instructions. Ask who is arranging any management registration still required. If permission or scheduling remains unresolved, ask the school what to do about the affected booking.
At the new pool, point out the entry, steps and other details the coach needs to assess the teaching area. Tell them if the learner feels uncertain about the different surroundings. Ask how the session will relate to the skill they were practising before the move.
To discuss a location change with Penguin, send your new condo or area, move date, current lesson arrangement and preferred next session through the contact page. Penguin can then check the proposed arrangement with you.
